The theme for the show is, “Kansas Landscapes.” It will be on exhibit throughout the month of March.

Needham is a professional photographer living in Lawrence, KS. He enjoys photographing weddings, portraits, live music, and the Kansas landscape.

When he’s not busy with weddings, or shooting local live music, you’ll find him exploring the back roads, woods, and prairies of Kansas. There are some beautiful and fantastic places out there in an often overlooked landscape. He also enjoys cooking, reading, camping, good coffee, good beer, visiting art galleries, and hunting for morel mushrooms.

Leivan’s First Friday exhibit is entitled, “Feminine Desert: Paintumentary.” The series of paintings is based on the perceived dualitymany young women present to the world. Each piece is dominated by abstract female figures. Notably, the use of color creates a striking contrast to the expected outcome in portraiture.

Photography by Keith Czechanski, September’s featured artist, will be shown in the street level space throughout October. Czechanski’s personal photography work reflects many styles from still life and landscapes to portraits. He enjoys using multiple photographic mediums for his work including toy film cameras, Leica rangefinders and digital SLRs.

Pianist Scott Senn performs at Bosco’s every Friday from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Senn has been performing for over 30 years and is an accomplished composer and arranger as well.

Bosco’s serves dinner from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday and has a full bar with an extensive martini list and craft beers on tap.

Bosco’s is also open for lunch from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm Monday through Friday both downstairs and at the street level location.

Czechanski followed his father’s footsteps into journalism and came to appreciate the power of the camera. He worked as a photojournalist for several years while he developed a passion for still photography. Czechanski is now the owner of Prairie Fire Images where he specializes in fashionable wedding photojournalism. For over 10 years he has photographed weddings throughout Kansas and from Hawaii to New York. Czechanski’s personal photography work reflects many styles from still life and landscapes to portraits. He enjoys using multiple photographic mediums for his work including toy film cameras, Leica rangefinders and digital SLRs.

Bosco’s serves dinner from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. Thursdays through Saturday has a full bar with an extensive martini list and craft beers on tap.

Bosco’s is also open for lunch from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm Monday through Friday.

The fee is $35 and includes all food and drink served as part of the tasting event.

1st Course – Micro-green Salad ( Organically grown in Lawrence, KS ) Served with a Lemon Basil Vinaigrette / Halcyon

2nd Course – Grilled Prawns served with an Orange Chili Glaze / IPA

3rd Course – Thai Curry Chicken in an Oasis Curry Cream Sauce with Caramelized Onions & Peppers / Oasis

4th Course – Pan-Seared Filet Mignon served Korean-style with Lemongrass and infused with a Tallgrass Ale Hoisin Sauce / Tallgrass Ale

5th Course – Pistachio-Crusted Cheesecake topped with Milk Chocolate / Buffalo Sweat

Grabill is a Topeka-based photographer. Her theme for the exhibit is “Summer,” with a focus on three aspects of the season: water, wildflowers and baseball. The baseball images are all from the Topeka Bulldogs games at the USSSA world series games in Liberty, Missouri which took place in July. Grabill was greatly impressed by their teamwork and sportsmanship, and hopes to convey this to the viewer through her photography.

Piano player Senn is a Manhattan-based musician who performs at Bosco’s every Friday from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Senn has been performing for over 30 years and is an accomplished composer and arranger as well.

Jeremy Butcher has been performing for over 10 years in the Miami, Florida and Kansas City areas. The Bail Jumpers is his latest band which promises a great show filled with blues and old-school funk and rock.
